MAEGAN’S STORY
I started playing volleyball when I was about 5 years old. It was just a regular sport for me to play as a child. When I got older, I understood what volleyball was all about. Volleyball is all about being a team player, having perseverance, a grit mindset, and growth. That is what I loved about it, you have 5 other girls on the court helping you to become better at those values. I first started getting into competitive volleyball at 12 years and joined a local club team. I then started training harder, working out more, and eventually loved playing of the sport. At 17 years old I committed to the University Of Tulsa and would eventually start playing for another club team named MAVS. I chose Tulsa due to the competitive gym atmosphere, love of the campus, the coaches, and the overall love from the team. In high school I had many accolades like 5A state champion, 5A Player of the Year in 2024, UKC Offensive Player of the year 3 times, etc. Since being at Tulsa I was named American Conference Freshman of the Week and American Conference All-Freshman Team.
WHY ULTRA ANKLE?
In the past, I was using generic ankle braces that gave me no support and stability. With or without ankle braces, I always found a way to roll my ankle. Then I found Ultra Ankle. I started wearing these braces in 2022 and I have not looked back since. What I like about the Ultra Zoom braces is the comfort, stability, prevention, and their non-restrictive design. Not many ankle braces have those qualities in their product. Ever since wearing Ultra Zoom braces I have not rolled an ankle. I have prevented many injuries over the past couple of years and that is credited to the Ultra Zooms. I would 100% recommend Ultra Zoom ankle braces to anyone who plays volleyball, anyone prone to rolling their ankles, and to anyone looking for lasting braces that will not break over a short time.
WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT PLAYING FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF TULSA?
The best part about playing for Tulsa is the girls and coaches. Being new isn’t easy and the people on this team make it easy. They want us to be the best versions of ourselves for each-other and the program. We all also want the same goal for the program, which is to win conference championships. I feel like being on a team all the same drive to reach a goal is something really special and something that is rare!
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUNG PLAYERS IN YOUR SPORT?
Advice I would give to young players is to work hard, have fun, and open your mind to new ideas and concepts. Without hard work, you will not outshine the ones who do the bare minimum. Hard work does show and it does pay off. Also opening your mind to new ideas will show you to grow and it shows character to your coaches and peers.
